Licence & print guide
PLAIN ENGLISH · BINDINGWhat you're buying
When you buy an artwork you're buying a licence to use the digital file, not the copyright. The artwork remains the property of Mental Monkey Software (Imagination Studio). The licence below applies to every tier — size tiers change the resolution you receive, not your rights.
You may
- Print the artwork for yourself — your home, your office, gifts — as many times as you like.
- Display it in a space you or a client control: a home you're decorating, an office, a café wall, a set, an Airbnb.
- Use it as a background or set dressing in your own photos, videos and streams.
- Show it on your screens and in your social posts, credited or not.
- Have any print shop or framer produce the physical print for you — sharing the file with them for that purpose is fine.
You may not
- Resell, redistribute or give away the file — or prints of it. The art itself is never yours to sell, at any size, on any product.
- Put it on products for sale (merchandise, templates, NFTs, stock libraries).
- Sub-license it, share it publicly, or upload it anywhere others can take it.
- Claim authorship, or edit it into a derivative work you then distribute.
- Use it to train, fine-tune or evaluate any AI or machine-learning model.
Need something the licence doesn't cover — bulk hospitality fit-outs, publication, packaging? Ask. Extended licensing is usually a quick yes.
Printing your file
Files are high-resolution JPEGs at 300 dpi. The tier you buy sets the largest size that prints crisply: as a rule of thumb, divide the pixel dimensions by 300 for inches at gallery quality — a 6000 px long edge prints beautifully to 50 cm, and larger still looks good at normal viewing distance.
- Any print shop, framer or online print service can print it — just upload or hand over the file.
- Ask for matte or lustre stock for the Gallery Press look; gloss fights the plaster tones.
- Colours are in sRGB. Any competent printer handles sRGB by default — nothing to configure.
- Don't upscale the file before printing; print services do this better than a browser tool if it's ever needed.
